I don’t know what it is about guitar hero but it is really addicting. I’m just glad that I don’t own it myself, that would result in a lot of lost time. I think there are a few components that make the game really fun and addicting. The songs for one are classics’s although many are performed by cover bands. The second is that you want to improve your skill and techniques so that you can compete versus your friends. I know that there are purists out there that say that the game is totally unrealistic but it is a video game and not an actual Fender.
I can almost guarantee that itunes has seen an increase in downloads of some classic rock hits since GH was released. This works out for young people that never experienced that type of classic rock music before and it also gives the older bands more publicity and more royalties for their classic cuts.
