Alltel wireless and Campbell-Ewald Digital which is owned by Interpublic Groups of Companies have launched a new site that mocks the four industry rivals, www.officialmancave.com
The wireless industry is very saturated and very few people are without cell phones this day in age. That being said competition is intense and new ways of reaching customers is needed to be able to successfully differentiate one self from the pack. Alltel is making a bold move and has also launched a myspace page, myspace.com/wirelessthugz
Alltel may have gotten the first mover advantage but it will be interesting what impact this campaign will have on market share and customer numbers. Right now the myspace page has only 132 friends…
